Cardiac Catheterization Lab, UCSD Medical Center Hillcrest, San Diego, CA
DESCRIPTION
The Catheterization Lab project was under OSHPD jurisdiction and involved renovations and new infrastructure to support the University’s Siemens AXIOM ARTIS single plane cardiac imaging system.
Construction was performed under level IV infection control requirements and required demolition and new improvements including structural upgrades to support the Siemens imaging equipment, radiation protection consisting of lead-lined walls, floors and ceilings and new casework. The fire protection, HVAC, electrical and fire alarm systems were also upgraded to meet current codes.
